About

In eighth grade, Micaela took a computer design class where one of the assignments was to superimpose our own face on a magazine cover. It didn't look very good, but from that point on she kept experimenting with Photoshop and Illustrator until she got the hang of it. That was probably the day that she decided to be a graphic designer.

After teaching herself to draw in sophomore year of high school, and subsequently participating in the Fashion Institute of Technology's precollege program (Saturday/Summer Live), she applied to Boston University and was admitted to their College of Fine Arts, School of Visual Arts class of 2013, where she is pursuing a major in Graphic Design. Six of her pieces (a series of three drawings, two sculptures, and a painting) were recently selected to be exhibited in the Fall 2010 Undergraduate Exhibition at the 808 Commonwealth Gallery. A large painting and several small paintings were selected to be part of the 2011 show.

Micaela has also designed the logo for the Temple Emeth Teen Community as well as a significant portion of a website overhaul that is still in progress.
"Whether I choose to express myself based on what I listen to or by putting what I see on paper in a new method, I hope to change how other people smell, feel, taste, hear and view the world. With my eyes and hands, I can create beauty out of a dirty, chipped mug."
