Oil on canvas, 24" x 21". The only requirements were to include a landscape, a still life and a figure. I decided to use invented color, inspired by Graham Nickson.

Recently I've been working on a series of visual explorations of quotes, using all photographs I have taken (except the map, which is a stock photo licensed for reuse).
Puzzle Pieces: Three Photographs
"Caught in the Act"
4288 px × 3216 px. Digital photographs, retouched slightly.
The theme of putting things together really resonated as I was taking these spontaneous photos, hence focusing on the single piece, the word created by separate letters, and the missing piece.
Peach on Blue
5" x 7" Oil on canvas. This was the second project in my Painting II class. A restriction was placed on time (three hours only).
Back of Canvas
10" x 14" Oil on canvas. Assignment: to create a trompe l'oeil painting of the back of a previously stretched canvas.
