A Sky of Fire (Painting Final)


Oil on canvas, 24" x 21". The only requirements were to include a landscape, a still life and a figure. I decided to use invented color, inspired by Graham Nickson.

5" x 7" Oil on canvas. This was the second project in my Painting II class. A restriction was placed on time (three hours only).

Back of Canvas


10" x 14" Oil on canvas. Assignment: to create a trompe l'oeil painting of the back of a previously stretched canvas.

Colored Heads

Oil on canvas, 11"x14". Painted cardboard heads.

Oil on canvas, 11"x14". Using only three paints: ultramarine, burnt umber, and white, to explore a variety of cool and warm tones.

Nude on Green and Red


on Green: acrylic on canvas paper, 16"x20". Focus on the tones of skin.

Both of these were the first time I had ever used their respective mediums.
